Oscar de carmen
Oscar de Carmen is an artist whose practice explores social structures, collective agency, and the politics of everyday life. Working across installation, performance, and socially engaged projects, he often investigates forms of coexistence and alternative economies. Since 2005, he has collaborated with Martinka Bobrikova, developing long-term projects that unfold through shared experiences and public participation. Their works emerge from specific contexts and communities, often using food, language, and material reuse as tools for dialogue and transformation. De Carmen’s approach emphasizes art as a space of commoning — a practice of care, exchange, and collective imagination that redefines the relationship between art and society.
