Magdaléna Žiaková
She is currently working as a dramaturge at Ludus Theatre, focusing primarily on preparing materials for productions and conducting introductory lectures. In her own creative work, her latest premiere was in March 2024—a play about Juana de la Cruz, exploring medieval sainthood that transcends gender. In August 2022, she completed her doctoral studies at VŠMU with a dissertation titled Inspirations from Video Games in Theatre or The Culture of Distraction.
In the summer of 2019, she participated in a two-week workshop on devised theatre with Wojtek Ziemilski and Sodja Lotker at Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, focusing on the method of real-time composition. Using this method, she created the Playformance: Walkthrough, which premiered in May 2021 at WAX club (reviewed by Juraj Bako in Mlok).
She has collaborated with the independent Asfd Theatre on several productions (Ministry of Loneliness in 2021, Mars in 2018). Additionally, she contributed to the 2019/2020 season at DAB in Nitra, working with directors such as Marián Pecko, Marián Amsler, Ján Luterán, Juraj Bielik, and Matúš Bachynec.
