Jarmila Mitríková

Jarmila Mitríková is a visual artist based in Košice, Slovakia.

Throughout her long-standing artistic practice, she has explored collective memory, history, folk spirituality, and religiosity as ways of understanding the present. Today, her work is rooted in personal experience. She approaches artistic creation as a ritual and a transformative process, in which personal experience becomes a path toward the archetypal. An intuitive engagement with materials, their symbolic meanings, and their magical qualities forms an integral part of her practice.

Jarmila Mitríková will share her residency with Eja Devečková, and their children.

Our shared residency is conceived as a collective experience of everyday life. Between morning dew underfoot, the warmth of the fire, and the gentle passage of days, a collage of shared moments will emerge. Through drawings, journals, conversations, and walks, we will create a story about closeness, childhood, and the extraordinary nature of ordinary things.
