Magdaléna Žiaková, Juraj Mydla

Magdaléna Žiaková works as a dramaturge at Ludus Theater, where she primarily prepares production materials and lecturer introductions. Her most recent work was the premiere of a piece about Juan de la Cruz in March 2024, exploring medieval holiness transcending family ties.

In August 2022, she completed her doctoral studies at the Academy of Performing Arts with a thesis entitled Inspirations from Video Games in Theater or The Culture of Distraction. In the summer of 2019, she participated in a two-week workshop on devised theater with Wojtek Ziemilski and Sodja Lotker at Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, focused on the real-time composition method.

Using this method, she created Playformance: Walkthrough, which premiered in May 2021 at WAX club (review by Juraj Bak on mloky). She has collaborated with the independent Asfd Theatre on several productions (Ministry of Loneliness – 2021, Mars – 2018). At the Andrej Bagar Theatre (DAB) in Nitra, she prepared the 2019/2020 season and worked with directors such as Marián Pecko, Marián Amsler, Ján Luterán, Juraj Bielik, and Matúš Bachynec.

Juraj Mydla 

A graduate of the Department of Intermedia of the Academy of Performing Arts, in Ilona Németh’s studio. Mydla was a member of the ensemble Asfd divadlo ašttnnkorazd fildj, collaborated with several independent theatre subjects in Slovakia, mostly as a video artist. He was a long-serving member of the performative group Marína Abramovič Po Sebe Neupratuje (Marina Abramovich Doesn’t Clean Up After Herself). At present, he works as an artist and cultural worker in Bratislava.
